Is there any difference between ceiling fans and pedestal fans? - do pedestal fans use alot of electricity

physical differences or work?

Yes - have ceiling fans with bearing shell dish motor that rotates with the knife. Stand fans camp must have that deal with the weight of the balance of a tree and may have to ask ourselves if oscillating centrifugal forces. The shell motor mount is fixed in rotation with coils inside. The fan blades on the feet are usually moving much faster. Several engine design.

There are many differences. Difference in the motor windings, using species, the diameter of the blade, the blade angle, plot structure, speed and volume scanning.
Pedestal shall have an additional function of the vibration.
